Want to become a Police Officer!!?

Is it possible for me to become a police officer if I have 2 misdemeanors on my record. One for fraudulent use of credit card under 500, and theft, came from the same incident. I am joining the Army as a military police, and while I'm doing that I will be attending college and getting a degree in criminal justice. Would that help me out since i have misdemeanors? That happened 3 years ago, my record will be expunged next year. Is it worth it or not? I really want to become a police officer, I've learned my lesson.
