Ask them about what their policies are on first-time offenders. Buy a thank you card and give it to the owner of the store, or the store manager apologizing, letting them know you made a mistake and are very thankful that they were so understanding. Call your police department to find out about the record deal. And some jobs in the future can see everything- police officers and other law enforcement, but if you want to be a clerk, then it may not matter.
