Is it better to go to court or get a hearing waiver for traffic violations?

I recently got a speeding ticket for going 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. My only other speeding violation was a couple years ago while I was in high school, but I had gone to court for that and received a probation before judgment ruling to get the points expunged from my license by pleading guilty with explanation. However this sounds exactly like getting a hearing waiver except with the possibility of having the cop not show up and getting the case dismissed. So what should I do? and if I do decide to go to court can I still did what I had done before? I know I was speeding and I don't care about getting the fine, I just don't want the points to raise my insurance.

Hey, My son was three months preemie. We went thru all sorts of issues with speech and hearing. I went to specialists and had tests etc done and it all came back clear. However the audiologist refered us to a speech therapist which he saw once a week for a few years. It really made a big dif. as for hearing nothing was done. a little over a year ago i was caught on my college campus with a tiny amount of marijuana and charged with a misdemeanor of possession of marijuana. My lawyer told me the best thing to do would go to the county jail for 3 days, as opposed to doing a year of probation and other requirements, in which case afterwords i could get it expunged and no one would be able to see it on my record. however, my lifelong goal has been to become a Marine and specifically Marine Recon. one of the requirements of Marine Recon is you have to be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. im worried that the Marines will be able to see this on my record because i figured if the government really wants to find something they can and will. or does expunged basically disappear all evidence of the situation of ever happening? id appreciate it if only people who have experience in either fields (military, law, or other) would answer and cite your source, thanks.

Last year november 2010 I decided to go out and hang with a cousin of mine. She's not a bad person but just has a problem with taking things. ARD is just a first time offenders program. It's not a class. Although you will have to go to alcohol highway safety classes. I'm sure you can do them where you are. With ARD if after a year you have not gotten in anymore trouble, your record will be expunged. Except if you were to get another DUI within 10 years, it would still count as your second. I got ARD and I live in PA.

im a freshman, and took three honors courses (the most possible for freshmen) this year and landed with a 4.1 total gpa weighted. i took 5 non honors classes that also get figured into the gpa. the weighting is a+ = 4.33 a = 4.0 a- = 3.67 and so on, and each honors course grade is counted as a full letter grade above what it would be otherwise (example if you got a b it would = 4.0). next year ill be able to take more honors classes so hopefully it will raise, but all of my friends are saying they have like 4.4s and whatnot and acting like its nothing. but i worked really hard and i only have a 4.1? is this bad?

Nightmares about shots?

My 17 month old has been battling a very stubborn ear infection for the past few weeks. This past Monday her pediatrician decided it was time for some antibiotics in the form of 3 shots, one to be given every 24 hours for 3 days. It was a traumatic experience for her each day when it was time for the shot (as it is for every child every time they get shots). Although she has stopped pulling on her ear, Wednesday and Thursday night she slept terribly. She kept waking up every 30-50 minutes, crying and babbling and was very upset. It was also really hard to calm her down. I'm wondering, do you think she may be having nightmares about the shots? I just can't think of what else it could be, since the antibiotics were supposed to make her feel better. Any thoughts?

Help! Worried sick about my baby?

My daughter is 9 and a half months old and has always had extremely sensitive skin. Terrible eczema, cradle cap and random rashes. After using California Baby calendula cream her eczema is under control, however for through longest time her nipples have been a persistently effected area. As soon as she her nipples are exposed she starts itching and grabbing them instantly. (I even have to cover them with a wash cloth whenever I bathe her) They are always either peeling, bleeding, or has pus/liquid oozing from them. The pediatrician has prescribed hydrocortizone and an anti-fungal cream and neither have made a difference. He now prescribed an ointment to treat staph infections and MRSA. I am terrified at the possibility of MRSA. She is never in a daycare or hospital, and I stay at home with her. I don't know how she could have caught MRSA if that's what it is. I am supposed to call back in 10 days after using the cream if there is no improvement to be referred to a dermatologist. Does anyone have experience in this situation? I can't stop thinking about it and I'm so worried. Any input would be appreciated. Sorry its so long and if there are errors, I'm on my cellphone.

Overall you seem to do fine in school and you have a bunch of ECs. You have some honors thats good, and the one AP is good, your ACT score is average, not great but not terrible might want to retake in this fall or not its up to you, you'll most likely get in, in my opinion, but overall no one here can tell you for sure that up to the admission people. So now the only thing you can do is apply, this coming fall.

My four month old usually takes 36 to 42 ounces of Alimentum formula per day. At his last Dr. visit the pediatrician was a bit horrified that he drinks so much. However he has been gaining height faster than weight: he is in the 95th percentile for height and 45th for weight. Clearly he is not overweight. I'm a EMT, Will my boss fire me if he finds out I have an arrest record?

When I applied for a job as an EMT, the application asked if I had ever been convicted of any crime, other then minor traffic offenses. I answered no. But I did omit(didn't tell them) that I had been arrested on suspicion of DUI 6 years earlier. I was never convicted and never charged with a crime, no action was taken against my drivers license or me in anyway. In fact I have a letter from the DA stating they never have and don't plan on prosecuting me. However an arrest record still exists and can be seen on a FBI or thorough background check. The background check my job did on me was not that thorough. I'm entering a paramedic program in a few months and a FBI background check will be done, which will definitely show the arrest. EMS is a small community and my boss will definitely fine out. How should I proceed? should I tell him now? should I wait until he approaches me. Should I hope he doesn't find out. I am going through the process of getting it expunged before the background check is done, however I don't believe it will be done in time. any advise would be great. I live in the US in an "At Will employment state"

I recieved my DUI when I was 20yrs old. I recieved this DUI in San Bernardino county California. I plead guilty and it was a misdomenor offense. Okay i really need someone who has some kind of legal experience. When i was like 17 i was with a friend and we got caught shoplifting, yeah i know it was a really silly thing to do. I went to court did my probation and everything, I thought that because i was a first offender i would be able to get it expunged. But i've been hearing that you cannot get a record expunged in Georgia if you were convicted of the crime, like pleading guilty. But then I've also heard that you can get expunged it would just be harder to do it. I don't know where this relationship is going to go. I really like this guy when we're together but I have a hard time dealing with the fact that he has a felony on his record. I knew a guy since 5th grade. We hated eachother from Day 1. He thot I talked too much, & he used to insult me often by calling me a stalker & telling me to shut up & go away. She told him & he offered her a moldy apple (?). L8r she told him again & he said, "Oh. where?" Now I'm going to 8th grade and io really really like him and miss him a lot, but I know I won't ever see him again. He doesn't read my emails. He blocked on FB. He actually said I should get 1 in 6th grade (when I hated him) and I did and one day he messages me about my wall post and I hadn't even told him I got an FB. Then he sent me a request after messaging a bit, saying to accept becuz chatting is easie than mssgin. I accepted. In summer my FB got disabled for no reason. I friend requested everyone again, and he denied then after a few months blocked me. Also, when I asked him how he found out about my FB he said he saw on his newsfeed that 1 of my friends had friended me & he clicked on my name cuz he was bored. Turns out my friend had never friended him, so both of us weren't mutual friends of his, & I had 4 friends, so I couldn't have been on his newsfeed. My friends say he's a jerk, but I rlly lyk him. Even when I'm nice to him, he's sorta mean. But occaisonally we would get along. We would argue a lot though, and he thought I was stupid even though I have the same honors/GATE classes as him and almost beat him in many competitions. He's really really smart and sporty, and sorta popular (so hes a nerd AND a jock). I JUST WANT TOBE FRIENDS with him though. I've tried apoligizing many times, but he never accepted my apologies. Well you'll be a very good applicant for both UCLA and UCSD, you'll probably get into UCSD, its a little easier to get into(but really competitive still) and with your stats, I would say you'll get in. UCLA on the other hand is harder to get into but you seem like you could get in, although really with both of these universities your more than qualified although at the same time a lot of other people are too, so it can go either way there no definite here. Although what I can say for sure is that you'll without a doubt get into multiple of the other UCs, and you have a very good shot at UCLA and UCSD. With you SAT, if you can take it again in the fall although depending on the time when your submitting your application, you might not have your scores back/ready because the next test date is October 1st, I would say take it again see how you do,you aren't too far from a 2000.

Question about criminal background question on applications....?

I have been looking for a job for quite some time now with no luck. I know the economy is bad, but I am pretty sure that my criminal background is keeping me from getting a job. I was convicted of a felony (forgery-less than $20!!) when I was 18 years old (8 years ago!) and haven't been in any trouble since then. I have two degrees, good references, etc. I was laid off about a year ago and have been unable to find a job since then. The majority of employers want you to apply online nowadays and there is so much competition. Of course employers are more likely to choose someone who is able to check no to the question regarding criminal background when they only have applications to go on and no face to face contact (i.e. first impressions). I am in the process of getting this expunged, but that can take up to a year! Anyways...I got off on a tangent. My question is what is the best response to the question 'Have you ever been convicted of a crime? If so, please explain.' I would never lie about it because they would more than likely discover it when they run a background check. I have been saying: "I was convicted of a crime when I was 18 years old. I have not had any legal trouble since then. I am currently in the process of getting it expunged from my record. I will gladly explain this in detail if offered an interview." Should I explain that it was forgery or omit this? I would greatly appreciate any advice that anyone has to offer! Thanks in advance!

Would it be a bad idea to finish a RN program and go into a Pre-med instead of a BSN program?

I have gone to school for about a year and I have 50 credits, mostly to get into a RN program. But right after, instead of going for a BSN program, I want to go through the Pre-Med route and become a Pediatrician or General Physician. I just wanted to know if this sounds like a bad idea. I was thinking that I would finish the RN program in about 1 or 2 years, get a job, and go back to school and finish those extra courses and apply at a university and get a PhD. Should I take AP Physics B or On-Level?

I am a rising junior and do not know if I should take AP Physics B or On-Level Physics next year (they do not offer honors at my school). They can;t force you into a hospital unless you are very serious about suicide. Not just feeling suicidal but like you have a plan and the intention of doing it. I am Bipolar and am frequently suicidal, my doctor has suggested more than once that I should be hospitalized but I refuse and she has never forced me because I promise that I will not follow through with my plans. Really you have to be very very ill to be hospitalized.

My daughter's pediatrician recommended that she get xrays because one of her legs seems to be longer than the other. She does not have clicky hips. If it's not an active case, then it's archived. The lady on the phone is unreliable. I would suspect she only checked for a warrant. Once your case is final, which means no probation etc., it's put in a different system which she probable doesn't have sitting on her computer.

Antidepressant equivalency to a Benzodiazepine?

A question that should be asked for everyone who has taken a benzodiazepene and has few options, because of the addictive hook to them. I was first prescribed "Lorazepam-Ativan" 5mg as young as 16. This was a huge prescription mistake my pediatrician had done. I was addicted and had been taken to a clinic for tapering off the "Lorazepam-Ativan". I was given "Clonazepam- Klonopin" and took 1.5mg and then started to taper off it. I am now off both benzodiazepenes. My psychiatrist prescribed me "Seroquel" 150mg and "Cipralex" 15mg. Seroquel only, helps me sleep and Cipralex does nothing whats so ever. What Cipralex or any other antidepressant is the equivalent to a benzodiazepene? After the withdrawal I feel like I NEED THEM for everyday life. I was diagnosed with "panic disorder" and haven't left the house, except for psychiatric appointments. My anxiety is through the through the roof!

It is my dream school but I am not sure I can get in. My school is a top public school in my state and has a very rigorous curriculum. I took mostly honors classes and have a 3.7 weighted GPA. I didn't take any AP classes because my teachers or guidance counselor didn't recommend any for me. It was a struggle to get the A's and B's I did get with the honors classes. To give you an idea of how competitive my high school is, even with my grades and GPA I barely made the top 35%. I did get a decent SAT score, 1850. Are dismissed cases automatically sealed in New York State?

I was pulled over 6 months ago because my tail light was flickering. The officer ran my plates and license to issue and equipment violation ticket and told me my license was suspended. My car was towed and I was brought to the police station in the village I was pulled over asked for 100 dollars bail and given a court date. I found out the error was that the DMV did not pick up my new insurance policy electronically because the new and old one overlapped by one day and they picked up a cancellation the day after the new policy started which superseded the new policy (bad programming I guess) at any rate I gave this information and proof to the district attorney who dismissed my case. My question is whether or not those records would be sealed for the purposes of an employment background check. I am sure law enforcement could see such a record which is really no concern for me as it was dismissed but I worry that it may be prejudicial when trying to get a job regardless of its dismissal. My research has said that the records are sealed but I want to be sure, other states are different where you may have to request the record be expunged I do not think that is possible in NY but I want to be sure I don't want a clerical error to cost me a job.

Not ANOTHER circumcision question?!?

My insurance will not cover it for my son. I like you see no reason to mutilate my new born babies parts so I will not be allowing them to circumcise him. I am on a payment plan for the difference that my insurance don't pay for my doctors apts and for the birth and they automatically charge me for a circumcision just in case I change my mind this way everything is paid for by the time the baby is here and then I will be reimbursed the overage I pay like the circumcision. The circumcision at the hospital I will be going to, In Ohio, it costs 186 dollars for it. If you husband still wants the baby to be circumcised after you talk to the pediatrician I would sit down with him and see if he will read up on the internet research that you looked into and show him all the problems that can be caused with it. Yes you could circumcise and not have problems but you could circumcise and have tons of problems. I used to work at a day care prior to getting pregnant. There was a boy there he was 5 and had been through 3 correctional surgeries from the time he was 2-5 because of problems with the circumcision he had at birth. 3 month old STILL spitting up!!!?

My son has been spitting up after and between feeding since he was born. His pediatrician switched his formula to Enfamil A.R. He seemed to spit up less once I started the A.R. When my husband had insurance through his job, we took our children to a different doctor that is in North Carolina. Does your Pediatrician pay attention to your kids feet?

It reallly depends on the severity of it. My daughters foot turns in quite a bit, especially when she is tired. My pediatrician told me not to worry that it was perfectly normal, but sent me to a specialist just to ease my mind. They did xrays of her legs and feet. Her left thigh bone is turned a bit, causing her foot to turn in. Basically said that her foot is perfectly fine and she did not need a brace or surgery. In fact, most Olympic sprinters have at least one foot that turns in. If they were to do surgery (if her foot was causing her to trip and affecting her quality of life), they would end up having to shave bones and many other awful things. So....try not to worry too much. It is probably perfectly normal. If you are concerned bring it up with your doctor.

My son wet his bed until just about a year ago. He was roughly 10 when he stopped. Our insurance said they would not cover an alarm, the best bet is to ask your insurance company though, every single one is different. We found something that you might want to look in to, or think about. My son seemed to have accidents no matter what we did, reduction of fluids, making sure he used the restroom before bed. He had seen multiple doctors, when one finally asked if he was allergic to milk. We said yes, he had been as a baby but had grown out of it. They did an ultrasound on my son and found that even though he was having bowel movements, his intestines had fecal matter hardened on the sides, and the pressure from the bowels (that were also inflamed slightly) was pushing on his bladder and would make him urinate with out him even knowing, at night it pushed harder and that is why most of his accidents happened at night. We put him on soy milk, removed all milk products from his diet and cleaned him out with a children's laxative (the doctor gave it to us) and he hasn't had an accident since then. I am not saying she is allergic to milk necessarily, but that problems we would never associate with bladder problems can be the source. Good luck

He actually said I should get 1 in 6th grade (when I hated him) and I did and one day he messages me about my wall post and I hadn't even told him I got an FB. Then he sent me a request after messaging a bit, saying to accept becuz chatting is easie than mssgin. I accepted. In summer my FB got disabled for no reason. I friend requested everyone again, and he denied then after a few months blocked me. Also, when I asked him how he found out about my FB he said he saw on his newsfeed that 1 of my friends had friended me & he clicked on my name cuz he was bored. Turns out my friend had never friended him, so both of us weren't mutual friends of his, & I had 4 friends, so I couldn't have been on his newsfeed. My friends say he's a jerk, but I rlly lyk him. Even when I'm nice to him, he's sorta mean. But occaisonally we would get along. We would argue a lot though, and he thought I was stupid even though I have the same honors/GATE classes as him and almost beat him in many competitions. He's really really smart and sporty, and sorta popular (so hes a nerd AND a jock). I just want to be friends with him though. I've tried apoligizing many times, but he never accepted my apologies. pack a special little backpack with small new items that you can give him every 15 minutes to hold his attention and keep him busy.... try easy to peel off felt stickers and a notebook to stick them to, Crayola's magic paper with the special markers (no mess), a small toy airplane that looks like the one you're on, a new toy like a sesame street doll or whatever he is into, etc. Also, be sure to bring some special snacks.... fruit snacks or roll-ups, his favorite crackers or even a cookie or two. This isn't the time to be overly picky about the food- you just want him entertained and quiet for the flight, right?! And although I don't usually condone medicating for non-medical reasons, one little dose of Benadryl if he can't calm down will not hurt him. I started feeding my 8-month-old daughter boiled egg yolk when she was around 7 months. She loved it and ate them consistently for over 2 weeks with absolutely no problems. She seemed to be digesting them just fine, and she really enjoyed eating them. Well, a couple of weeks ago, she got pretty congested and stopped wanting to eat much of anything. It all depends on what they want to do with you. Extending you ten days means they have to pay you for ten more days even if you are doing extra duty during those days. Don't be surprised if they just make you do extra duty until the day before you leave. Be glad they're letting you finish AIT instead of kicking you out.. Article 15s don't come up on a civilian record but when you are going through your career it will be on your military record. Consider this a lesson learned, people in the Army don't tolerate thieves and I've seen barracks thieves have a really bad day when they were caught and I don't mean with the chain of command.

Long story short, when I was 15 I was convicted for giving a controlled substance (a perscription) to someone in school. It was expunged when I turned 18. A friend of mine in the military called the FBI to check for a record in the NCIC, nothing came back. I am 37 and have been diagnosed with shingles. My 10 month old son has not been vaccinated for chicken pox yet. My pediatrician said to bring him in and if he wasn't showing any signs of having contracted chicken pox yet, they would give him the vaccine for it. She said that normally they would not do it until 15 months. So that got me worried. I looked it up and the vaccine appears to be approved for kids aged 12 months to 12 years. Okay, so the last time I checked, the US was in debt about three trillion dollars($3,000,000,000,000) and about %60 of that debt was to china. I understand how the world bank works, and i'm not stupid, but it doesn't seem like their government is able to recover from this massive debt. Let's say that in about ten years(assuming the world doesn't end next year), there is some sort of worldwide crisis and China called in it's debt. Now, since the US is a member of the UN, they can't declare war, and China wouldn't declare war, as it would be a world war, but in the name of justice, would China then be given %60 of the US' land and resources, or would the debt be expunged? (Keeping in mind that there's no way that the US could afford to pay the debt)
