Can you be forcefully committed to a mental hospital by your doctor?

They can;t force you into a hospital unless you are very serious about suicide. Not just feeling suicidal but like you have a plan and the intention of doing it. I am Bipolar and am frequently suicidal, my doctor has suggested more than once that I should be hospitalized but I refuse and she has never forced me because I promise that I will not follow through with my plans. Really you have to be very very ill to be hospitalized.
